TV Room
Nowadays everywhere is the TV room. Laptop computers, tablets, touchscreen phones, smart watches, intelligent refrigerator displays, etc., all these gadgets bring television functionality into any space. But I still think it's nice to have a room that's "the TV room". Maybe the screen or the sound system is a little better, or maybe it's just that the control surface is like, 4 feet away from you and not right there at your fingertips, and you can just be like "this is playing" as you let it wash over you, without being able to feed the impulse to skip the opening music. Plus it's just nice to have a room where your buddy could walk in and go "what are you watching?" and plop down next to you. Magnum PI. "Oh sick, is that him?" No, that's a helicopter. "Is he in the helicopter?" No, he's on a date. etc..
Anyway this is the TV room.
At the moment the TV room is a place for stuff you can watch, and for writing about moving images. There's 4 things in it-- an ongoing writing project in which I talk about videos (with video embeds), a list of all the movies I've watched (with terse, pithy reviews) since February 2019, videos that I've made and uploaded to YouTube for various reasons, and links to posts about TV / movies / vids.

TO STAIRS

Pleasant Realms
I am presently writing an email newsletter about non-narrative YouTube videos. In the interest of keeping everything under the same roof I've decided to archive all the posts here. The newsletter is called Pleasant Realms and you can subscribe for free to get new posts delivered via email: [subscribe].I'm putting these here because I'm obsessive about archiving my own material on my own server, but these kinda "live" at the substack linked above. If you like this I would love it if you subscribed and then forwarded your favorite ones to your friends and got them to subscribe. My goal is to get 3000 subscribers, of whom 10% opt for paid subscriptions, and then I can quit my job at the grocery store. :)
The videos are embedded in each post.
