New shirt on the storefront!! I don't need to say much about this other than yes, this is an Ernie Bushmiller comic alongside a quote from the artist Bruce Nauman.
Bushmiller is known for his comic strip "Nancy", although this was made for a cartoonist's trade publication. Bruce Nauman is an American artist who "seems to be fascinated by the nature of communication and language's inherent problems, as well as the role of the artist as supposed communicator and manipulator of visual symbols" (wikipedia).
Bushmiller's design was widely bootlegged on a variety of novelty items, and this shirt carries on in that disreputable tradition. My combo design is a slight revision of this same design I made for my junk shop in 2006. All orders I get this week will be printed next Monday and shipped out Tuesday.
Shirts are printed in black on "natural" color (unbleached) Gildan 100% cotton shirts. This would be a great shirt to tie-dye, or stain with spaghetti sauce, engine grease, and good old-fashioned dirt, or simply to wear for years until it's as thin as chiffon.

- I'm going to be selling stuffed animals at the Steel Yard Iron Pour this Saturday, October 3, from 11 to 4pm. They'll be melting iron in large crucibles and pouring it into molds. That's worth checking out in itself. Then there's an arts market too, with Mary Marker, Mikey Knives, me, and who else I don't know. The Steel Yard is at 27 Sims Ave Providence RI. Website isn't super updated but that's here: [thesteelyard.org]
- Earlier on Saturday, or at the same time, go see Mickey Zacchilli's art show at the Speed Shop. She'll have drawings on display and also plant cuttings for sale.

I'm working on something fun with this, with like, cool little icons. but for now all this does is allow you to sign your name in a way that identifies you as the writer, so no one can spoof you. And it turns your name gold. :)
