Feeling kinda 🥀 so I bought some books from Cellar Stories, including this annotated Archie from my favorite era (late 60s) and a book of Taoist calligraphy. Thank you to Cellar Stories for being a great book store, and thank you to the barrista at Small Point Cafe who was playing Suicidal Tendencies on the stereo. 🦋

CTRI Innovations artist residency now accepting applications for Feb/March/April. So far it’s been a blast, 70 people have completed the residency and each one has been a great experience (for me at least). The residency lasts for 1 cup of coffee or tea and takes place potentially anywhere coffee or tea is served commercially (though for the time being it’s limited to Providence RI). It consists of hanging out chatting with me while we drink coffee or tea. There are no application fees, and there is a 1 cup stipend. To read more about it, or to apply, see the website in the link in my bio. This offer is extended to artists who do residencies, artists who don’t, artists that don’t feel comfortable referring to themselves as “an artist”, those who do, people that I know, and people I don’t. All styles. Any questions just bark at me. 🙂

Did my hair like Rutger Hauer for the Sci Fi movie marathon, noon today til noon tomorrow. I’m pretty psyched for this year, they’re showing INNERSPACE!!! And a 70mm print of Star Trek VI that David The Projectionist says will “ALTER [my] LIFE”. Alter my life David, fuck me up. Beam me up, zip me in, let’s go. #dickmillerfanclub #sf44 #trekkers #potential #infinity #theundiscoveredcountry

CTRI Innovations artist residency program is plugging along, I’m having a great time hosting artists for a cup of a coffee a conversation and that’s it. In fact I find it extremely rewarding, and I feel like the 70 or so people who’ve participated so far would agree! More info on CTRI, including the (easy) application, at the link in my bio. There’s also little write-ups on all the residencies thus far, if you want to see basically what it’s like, or see an impressive list of people who wanted to engage in this concept 🍃☕🔔

Thanks everyone for coming out to my gallery show or at least jamming on the pics as they rolled out. The closing was last night and at 8 o’clock I let everyone there pick an animal to hug and squeeze and pet. Here’s me with the giant squid. I had an extremely nice time hanging this show and talking to people during gallery hours, thank you Jori and Chris for use of the space, Ian for his massive help in the gallery, Sakiko for everything, Matt Z for taking me to buy lumber for the shelves, and Xander for driving me to Job Lot for snacks for the opening. And again thanks to everyone that came out, it was great to hear everyone’s thoughts and emotions on this! #animalyear

Obligatory gallery bathroom selfie. I’ll be here till 8 and at exactly 8pm I’ll let you pick a stuffed animal from the wall and hug and squeeze and pet it (but you can’t keep it). What other sculptor can make that offer? Except Brancusi? I meant to get snacks and bevs like at the opening but I got only beer and ice, hope that’s not gonna be too much of a problem.
