CTRI Innovations is an artist residency program i created that lasts for one cup of coffee. It includes a one coffee stipend. Yesterday’s artist in residence was none other than @spideretc, she was the 65th one. Apply today! Link in bio. At this point its turning into a who’s who for people in the Northeast who are fun and producing interesting work, though you don’t have to feel you’re “producing interesting work” to apply. No one thinks that about themselves, or only in rare instances.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, catch me at the gallery, check out my show ANIMAL YEAR, say hi, and if you want, get a cup of coffee and hang out. 3-8pm at 159 Sutton St.. It’s been really fun doing gallery hours and each day there’s a new cool crew of people laughing and pointing and talking about their feelings, i can’t wait to see who rolls through tomorrow. After that is the closing on Thursday, 5-8. Then everyone goes back in their boxes, even Van Gogh’s Ear (pictured). More info on this show in the link in my bio. #animalyear

Wow, what a nice day! Lots of people came out to gallery hours for my show ANIMAL YEAR, and I had a great time hanging out and talking to people. All the stuffed animals in the show were made one per day over a long stretch of time– I think it was @ladyqueenparadise who pointed out that this guy was made on Jan 26 2005, and today is their birthday!!!!! Happy birthday little guy! And happy birthday to my friends @lilybenson and @stashleyfrithles! #animalyear

Lots of the creatures in my show are based on real sea creatures, inspired largely by my then-roommate Little Andrew’s DVD copy of Blue Planet. If you’re feeling tense or bugged out I highly recommend both Blue Planet and Blue Planet 2. It’s the kind of shit that makes you sit back and say “that’s my planet”. Here’s an ocean sunfish (or mola mola), it might look kind of goofy but that’s what these guys look like, I did a great job. I’m at the gallery today from now till 5 and Tuesday 3-8. Closing Thursday the 30th, 5-8. Its cool to bring a kid to the show, that’s totally valid. I’ll be watching the gallery at my show ANIMAL YEAR, tomorrow (Saturday) from 11 to 5, come on by. 159 Sutton St Providence RI. I’m going to be meeting with an art class of teens from noon to 1:30 or so, so steer away or into that as you see fit. This show is recommended if you like art, things that have personality and character, when there’s a lot of varied things, when things are a little ugly and that makes them extra cute, and things that are good. Though if you like things that are bad there’s some of that too, there’s something for everyone! More info at the link in my bio, and more pics in the tag: #animalyear
