I had a great time at Comic Arts Brooklyn! This is the only picture I thought to take- Brian Blomerth drawing a beautiful skunk by request. I was nervous about the talk with Gary Panter and Charles Burns but it went great I think! They’re both so fun to talk to, I just let it happen.

CAB is this weekend, maybe I’ll see some of you there? I’ll be facilitating this cool talk at 2pm and otherwise just bopping around 😘

Two big gigs coming up- Nov 02 I’ll be at Comic Arts Brooklyn in New York City, in a staged public conversation with Gary Panter and Charles Burns, on the topic of sketchbooks. Nov 08-09 I’ll be performing a new piece inspired by the music of JS Bach at the 7th Bach To The Future marathon, at Manning Chapel here in Providence RI. BTTF goes from 7pm to 7am and in keeping with my custom I’ll be playing at the cusp of very late and very early. CAB is 11am-7pm and my talk is at 2pm. Both events are free to attend and will be positively swarming with other inspiring artists. Please say hi if you see me and have any inclination to talk to me! If we’ve never met I’m pretty easy to spot- I’m a plastic skull gripped by an enormous hand

My gallery show from earlier this year is up for a Dorry award! The show was called “Animal Year”, you can vote at the link in @lawandorderparty ‘s bio. There’s separate ballots for different fields this year, I’m in “arts” 🙂 #animalyear

Duplicates pile. The riffs for these are as follows: • elephant: never forgets, pretty eyes. • rhino: the unicorn in tales of old • hippo: the deadliest of them all. Gonna carry these around the next couple days leaving them places, hope that’s not a problem

Ok I know I just posted about CTRI Innovations, the massively influential artists residency program I manage, but I just made 3 big changes- 1, there is now a fee of $250. 2, full scholarships are readily and immediately available. 3, if you already did a residency you can do it again but you gotta buy your own coffee this time. I hope this isn’t too confusing- my main goal isn’t to make money or even cover my costs but to say, in a few months, “over $10,000 in scholarships awarded”. And some people love to spend money on things of beauty so I figured, let them.

My artists residency program “CTRI Innovations” is still taking applications- I see no reason to stop. More info at the link in my bio. Drink a cup of coffee or tea with me and talk about what you’re working on or thinking about. Maybe I can help with a problem, maybe you just want to yap about ideas for a lil bit. Open to anyone with a creative practice. I’ve been getting a lot of great feedback about this lately from participants- people who approached their work with a different attitude after, people who got other grants and residencies as a result of this one. I love to hear this! Thank you to everyone who declared CTRI Innovations New England’s best residency or grants program 2019

Playing a show tonight at Machines With Magnets, doors at 7, music at 8. This will be the second time I’ve brought my dollhouse here out of the house, I hope everything works ok! I added some magnets (top left corner of the box) to be on theme. There’s also a laser but all it does is make a small red dot on the ceiling. It isn’t even as bright as the LEDs! I’ll be playing in support of Dungeon Acid, MX Silkman, Lazy Magnet, and Statues of Eden. I think the Mag is doing a jungle set????????? Attn @coolandfrank

In regards to “records that changed my life”, I’d have to put this Monster Mash comp at position number one with a sizzling electrode. It’s crazy the light that can guide you! Sometimes it’s a golden sunbeam on a summer day, sometimes it’s a moldy chandelier in an abandoned house on the darkest night of the year. Sometimes it’s really just “some weird lights”! God I have so much to say about this record but I’m at work right now, don’t have time to drop a tome on you. This copy of Monster Mash is sealed but I can play other utopic works if you desire. OK to dial this up on YouTube and think about me at age 8 already steering my life towards a decrepit mansion full of ghouls where I would one day rest my ignoble wig. And if you visit me at work it’s ok to bring me a candy bar but that’s not required.
